Merino Mono Revolutionizes Installation

The Merino Mono consolidates the indoor heat exchanger and outdoor condenser into one compact indoor unit, sized like a radiator.

It plugs into a standard 120-volt outlet—if a microwave works, so does this—and requires just two wall holes for installation in one hour at $3,800.

Wi-Fi enabled with occupancy sensing, the units coordinate for efficiency and plan Oura Ring integration to adjust temperatures during sleep.

Rau's background includes co-founding Quilt, another heat pump innovator, honing her skills in simplifying complex HVAC tech.

Targeting Urban and Low-Income Impact

Merino is deploying 48 units at Richmond's low-income Civic Center Apartments, proving viability in dense housing.

Pre-orders are live for 2026 deliveries, initially in California, with expansion to Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington.
