Vietnam's VinEnergo Secures 10GW Renewable Energy Portfolio in Denmark, Sweden, and Philippines

VinEnergo, the energy division of Vietnam's leading conglomerate Vingroup, has acquired development rights for a landmark 10 GW renewable energy portfolio spanning Denmark, Sweden, and the Philippines.

This acquisition represents the initial phase of VinEnergo's bold vision to deploy 100 GW of renewable capacity worldwide over the next three years, including 50 GW in high-potential international markets.

Strategic Partnerships in Northern Europe

In partnership with Denmark-based GreenGo Energy, VinEnergo will co-develop 2 GW of renewable projects in Denmark and Sweden, with plans to expand to 6.2 GW across Europe.

Major Push into the Philippines

The Philippines anchors the portfolio with key deals: 1.3 GW alongside NKS Renewables Inc., 1.2 GW with URG Asia Corporation, and 1.3 GW with 11.11 Growth Properties.

These Philippine projects target high solar irradiation zones in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, capitalizing on the archipelago's abundant renewable resources.

VinEnergo commands over 80% ownership in these joint ventures, leading capital raising, construction, and long-term operations.

Groundbreaking for several initiatives occurred in early 2026, paving the way for commercial operations between 2027 and 2028.

Ambitious Future and Technological Edge

Looking ahead, VinEnergo targets a 20 GW international pipeline by Q1 2026, incorporating at least 8 GW more in Southeast Asia and Africa.

The firm's proprietary battery energy storage systems will integrate with projects to ensure grid stability and regulatory compliance amid rising clean energy demands.

This expansion highlights Vietnam's emerging leadership in global renewables, aiding partner countries' decarbonization while addressing surging electricity needs.

"The secured 10 GW pipeline demonstrates our capacity to execute complex, cross-border renewable energy projects at scale," stated VinEnergo CEO Nguyen Anh Khoa.
