Vietcombank, NAPAS, and Ant International Launch Cross-Border QR Payment Service Linking Vietnam and China

Vietnam National Payment Corporation (NAPAS), Vietcombank, and China's Ant International have officially launched a groundbreaking cross-border QR payment service connecting Vietnam and China.

The launch ceremony took place on April 3, 2026, marking a significant milestone in digital payment integration between the two nations.

Service Mechanics Unveiled

Chinese tourists can now use their Alipay e-wallet to scan VietQR Global codes and make payments at merchants within Vietnam's extensive NAPAS network.

This network encompasses retail outlets, restaurants, hotels, and popular tourist sites across the country.

Transactions are seamlessly processed through the connectivity between NAPAS and Ant International, supported by Vietcombank's robust clearing and settlement system.

Payments are settled directly between Chinese yuan (RMB) and Vietnamese dong (VND), ensuring efficiency and currency accuracy.

Boosting Tourism and Trade

The service arrives amid a surge in Chinese visitors to Vietnam, offering faster and more convenient payment options for travelers.
