The duo met in 2023 at the Entrepreneur First accelerator and quickly prototyped their first robot—a remote-controlled device—while living in a camper trailer beside Canadian corn fields.

During the 2024 season, they manually applied fertilizer across 70 acres, immersing themselves in farmers' daily realities to refine their technology rapidly.

By 2025, their fourth-generation autonomous robots covered 1,200 acres, achieving 100% customer retention and placing over 200 farms on the waitlist.

Environmental and Economic Impact

This precision approach addresses the industry's inefficiency, where traditionally only 30% of front-loaded fertilizer is absorbed by crops, leading to massive waste.

Farmers using Upside's system save approximately $150 per acre per season, proving strong return on investment and driving demand.
