TotalEnergies Launches 30 MW Solar Power Plant Construction in Malaysia After Key Financial Milestone

TotalEnergies has reached financial close and begun construction on its 30 MWac solar project in Malaysia.

The project in Kulim, Kedah, partners with Solar Citra Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of MK Land Holdings Berhad, where TotalEnergies holds a 49% stake.

Project Specifications

Spanning 115 acres, the plant will install about 80,000 photovoltaic panels.

It includes a new 132 kV substation to connect to the grid.

Secured with MYR 145 million in financing from BNP Paribas Malaysia Berhad.

The full output goes to major tech and industrial firms through 21-year power purchase agreements, including one with Google.
