Thailand's Konvy Secures $22M Series B to Dominate Southeast Asia's Booming Beauty Market

Thailand's leading beauty platform Konvy has raised $22 million in a Series B funding round led by Japan's Cool Japan Fund.
The fresh capital, with participation from existing investor Insignia Ventures Partners, aims to supercharge Konvy's expansion across Southeast Asia.
From Bootstrapped Startup to Regional Contender
Founded in 2012 by Chinese entrepreneur Qinggui Huang, Konvy achieved market dominance in Thailand without early outside funding.
The company offers over 20,000 products from more than 1,000 brands through an omnichannel model spanning e-commerce, social commerce, and offline stores.
Prior to this round, Konvy secured about $21 million in Series A funding, including $10 million from Insignia in 2022 and $11 million extension in 2024.
Japan's Strategic Bet on SEA Beauty
Cool Japan Fund's lead investment underscores Japan's push to export premium beauty and health brands via platforms like Konvy.
"With CJF as our lead partner, we are uniquely positioned to bring high-quality Japanese brands to the region," said Qinggui Huang, Konvy's Group CEO.
Capitalizing on SEA's Beauty Boom
Southeast Asia's beauty market is exploding, projected to surpass $12 billion in trade value with double-digit growth driven by a rising middle class.
Konvy plans to deepen its footprint in the Philippines and Malaysia, blending curated imports with private-label products.
This funding arrives amid e-commerce surges post-pandemic, positioning Konvy against giants like Shopee and Lazada in beauty sales.
Beyond expansion, the deal highlights cross-border success stories, like a Chinese founder thriving in Thailand's competitive retail scene.
For everyday consumers, it means easier access to affordable, high-quality beauty goods amid growing demand for personalized skincare.
