AI Legal Tech Unicorn Legora Triples Valuation to $5.55B with $550M Series D Led by Accel

Swedish startup Legora has tripled its valuation to a staggering $5.55 billion after securing $550 million in a Series D funding round.

The oversubscribed round was led by Accel and included new investors like Bain Capital, Menlo Ventures, and Salesforce Ventures, alongside prior backers.

Legora's Explosive Growth Journey

Founded in 2023 in Stockholm, Legora develops an AI platform tailored for lawyers to seamlessly integrate artificial intelligence into their daily workflows.

The company now boasts over 800 customers spanning 50 markets worldwide.

Co-founders Sigge Labor, president, and Max Junestrand, CEO, have propelled Legora from inception to unicorn status in under three years.

This latest raise brings Legora's total funding to $816 million, following a $150 million Series C in October at a $1.8 billion valuation.

Investor Confidence in AI-Driven Legal Tech

Returning investors include Benchmark, Bessemer Venture Partners, General Catalyst, Iconiq Capital, Redpoint Ventures, and Y Combinator.

The funding arrives during a banner year for legal tech, with investments reaching a record $4.08 billion in 2025, up 77.4% from 2024.

Peers like Harvey, which raised over $1 billion, and Filevine with $400 million, underscore AI's disruptive force in the legal sector.

U.S. Expansion and Future Vision

Legora, which entered the U.S. market via New York a year ago, plans new offices in Houston and Chicago, with further openings slated for this year.

CEO Max Junestrand noted that U.S. adoption has surpassed expectations, enabling accelerated growth in talent and infrastructure.

With this capital infusion, Legora is poised to empower law firms globally, revolutionizing legal practices through advanced AI integration.
