One of Japan's largest startup and technology conferences is coming back this Spring 2025.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has announced that SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025, the premier global event for sustainable urban technology, will take place from May 8 to 10, 2025, at Tokyo Big Sight. The conference, now in its third year, aims to foster open innovation by bringing together startups, investors, and industry leaders to tackle urban challenges through advanced technology.
A Platform for Global Innovation
SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025 is expected to draw over 50,000 participants, including representatives from more than 500 startups, major corporations, and venture capital firms. The event will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and exhibitions focused on cutting-edge developments in artificial intelligence, robotics, smart cities, and sustainable urban solutions.
Among the key highlights is the SusHi Tech Challenge 2025, a pitch competition where startups will compete for a grand prize of 10 million yen. The contest aims to spotlight groundbreaking solutions that can contribute to the future of urban living.
The event will also feature dedicated networking zones, facilitating business matchmaking between startups, investors, and corporate partners. A specialized mobile app will enhance connection opportunities, allowing participants to schedule meetings and explore potential collaborations.
Strong International Presence
SusHi Tech Tokyo has continued to expand its global reach, with participation from delegations representing countries such as Switzerland and the Nordic region. The swisstech Pavilion will showcase Swiss startups at the forefront of deep-tech and smart city solutions. Additionally, a Nordic delegation will highlight sustainable innovations from Scandinavia.
“Tokyo is committed to becoming a global leader in urban innovation,” said a spokesperson from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. “By bringing together the brightest minds in technology and entrepreneurship, SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025 will drive forward-thinking solutions for cities worldwide.”
