Bellatrix Aerospace, a leading Bengaluru-based spacetech startup, has secured $20 million in a pre-Series B funding round.
The round was led by Cactus Partners, with participation from new investors Hero Investment Office, 35 North Ventures, Indusbridge Ventures, and Monarch Holdings, alongside existing backers like Inflexor Ventures and Pavestone VC.
Bellatrix Aerospace's Innovative Journey
Founded in 2015 by Rohan M Ganapathy and Yashas Karanam, Bellatrix Aerospace specializes in advanced electric, green, and chemical propulsion systems for satellites.
The company has previously raised about $24.2 million, including an $8 million Series A in 2022 and a $3 million pre-Series B in 2025, building a strong foundation with proven flight heritage.
This latest infusion marks a pivotal shift from development to large-scale commercial manufacturing and supply chain integration.
Boosting Manufacturing and Meeting Global Demand
The funds will primarily expand manufacturing facilities to address surging demand for satellite propulsion amid the rise of low-Earth orbit (LEO) constellations worldwide.
Bellatrix Aerospace aims to accelerate customer deployments, particularly following its first major international commercial contract outside India.
The startup is also strengthening its U.S. presence to tap into the expanding global space economy.
Future Impact on Space Industry
This funding validates India's growing prowess in spacetech, positioning Bellatrix Aerospace as a key player in in-space mobility infrastructure.
By scaling production of cost-effective propulsion technologies, the company will enable more efficient satellite operations and constellations for telecom, earth observation, and beyond.
Industry observers see this as a strong endorsement of Bellatrix's execution capabilities amid a booming sector projected to reach trillions in value.
With enhanced capacity, Bellatrix Aerospace is poised to deliver world-class solutions, driving innovation and accessibility in satellite technology globally.
