Southeast Asia IPO Boom Hits $3.07 Billion in First Half as Big Listings Drive Growth

Southeast Asia completed 47 IPOs in the first half of 2026, raising more than 3.07 billion dollars according to Deloitte.
This marks a sharp increase from 1.41 billion dollars raised in the same period last year.
The total market capitalization of these IPOs reached 15.07 billion dollars, nearly double the previous year's figure.
The Shift Toward Larger and Stronger Listings
Although the number of IPOs fell by 11 percent year on year, the average deal size grew significantly from 26 million dollars to 65 million dollars.
Three major transactions each exceeded 500 million dollars and together added substantial value to the regional market.
These included UI Boustead REIT in Singapore, Sunway Healthcare Holdings Berhad in Malaysia, and Dien May Xanh Investment Joint Stock in Vietnam.
Malaysia led the region for the second straight first-half period thanks to the successful healthcare listing that raised around 707 million dollars.
Why the IPO Surge Matters for Everyday People
Vietnam staged a strong comeback with four IPOs after none in the prior year and achieved the highest regional market capitalization at 6.93 billion dollars.
Singapore climbed ahead of Indonesia in the rankings, showing renewed investor interest following market improvements.
The trend of fewer but higher-quality deals points to greater maturity in Southeast Asian capital markets and could support long-term economic stability across the region.
Looking ahead, easing interest rates and a solid pipeline of companies suggest continued selective growth in the second half of the year.
For ordinary residents this activity can translate into more job opportunities from expanding listed firms and better prospects for personal investments in growing local businesses.
