OKG Ventures Invests $38M in Vietnam's CAEX Crypto Exchange Amid Booming Regulatory Pilot

OKG Ventures has injected nearly $38 million (VND1,000 billion) into Vietnam Prosperity Crypto Asset Exchange (CAEX), securing a 10% stake in the pioneering crypto trading platform.

This strategic investment aligns with an early April agreement involving OKX Ventures and HashKey Capital, aimed at helping CAEX meet Vietnam's stringent VND10 trillion minimum capital requirement for crypto exchanges.

Boosting Vietnam's Crypto Infrastructure

Domestic investors dominate CAEX's charter capital at 89.4%, led by Lynkid (29%), Future Land (25%), and VPBankS (11%), underscoring strong local support for crypto innovation.

Foreign participation includes Cheng Tan Feng from HashKey Capital with a 0.6% stake, highlighting growing international confidence in Vietnam's digital asset market.

Vietnam's government launched a five-year pilot for cryptocurrency exchanges in September 2025, attracting around ten businesses including major players like Techcombank, VPBank, and Sun Group.

Prior to this, Vietnam had been navigating crypto regulations cautiously, with high adoption rates but limited formal infrastructure, making CAEX one of the first licensed platforms.

The investment positions CAEX to capitalize on Vietnam's young, tech-savvy population and its ambition to become a regional blockchain hub.

Industry experts see this as a pivotal move that could accelerate compliant crypto trading, fostering innovation while adhering to regulatory standards.
