Maybank Achieves Milestone: First On-Chain Tokenized FX and Cross-Border Payment via MYR-SGD Corridor

Maybank, Malaysia's largest lender, has completed its inaugural pilot for on-chain tokenized foreign exchange and cross-border payments through the MYR-SGD corridor.

The transaction partnered with Yinson Holdings Berhad, integrating tokenization of bank deposits with real-time FX conversion from MYR to SGD and seamless payment from Malaysia to Singapore.

Technical Innovation in Blockchain Payments

Maybank's permissioned blockchain enabled the full on-chain workflow, marking a breakthrough in operational efficiency for cross-border transactions.
