Malaysia Regulators Unite: SC and MCMC MoU Targets AI-Powered Scam Prevention and Enforcement

On April 3, 2026, the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) signed a pivotal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to intensify anti-scam efforts.

In 2024 and 2025, the agencies blocked or suspended 328 websites, 388 Telegram accounts, and 60 telephone numbers linked to scams.
