Malaysia's Jelawang Capital, the National Fund of Funds operated by Khazanah Nasional Berhad, has backed more than ten promising startups.

Its first five fund managers have catalyzed over RM30 million ($7.64 million) in capital, amplifying investments in the ecosystem.

Key Impacts on Innovation and Employment

A standout success is Syntiant, a US-based edge-AI leader, which expanded to Penang via Dana Impak funding, doubling production capacity and generating around 800 jobs for Malaysians.

In financial year 2025, Khazanah Nasional achieved resilient results with net assets of RM105 billion and a 5.2 percent return despite global headwinds.

Since 2004, Khazanah has grown its portfolio from RM81 billion in 2018 to RM95 billion by end-2025, delivering RM93.1 billion in cumulative returns to the government.

Amirul Feisal, Khazanah's Managing Director, highlighted alignment with the Advancing Malaysia strategy and Ekonomi MADANI agenda for economic upliftment.

Future Growth and Sector Focus

Khazanah enabled three Malaysian firms in semiconductors and advanced manufacturing through partnerships since 2024.

Dana Impak transformed over 40 mid-tier companies, boosting operations, investor readiness, and productivity.

For 2026, Khazanah will accelerate portfolio optimization, socioeconomic impact, and diversification amid moderating global growth.

These investments reinforce Malaysia's economic resilience, driven by robust private and foreign direct investments.

Jelawang Capital's role underscores a commitment to fostering vibrant communities and long-term wealth creation.
