Israel-based food delivery platform Haat has raised $20 million in fresh funding.

The investment round sets a post-money valuation of around $100 million, enabling expansion into the competitive Tel Aviv market.

Rivaling Dominant Player Wolt

Haat positions itself to challenge market leader Wolt, which recently faced regulatory hurdles including a NIS 8.5 million penalty in 2023.

Founded in 2020 in Haifa by entrepreneur Ali Ayoub, Haat initially focused on underserved Arab communities with cash-friendly delivery solutions.

The Arabic word for "bring," Haat quickly gained traction by addressing infrastructure and payment gaps in these areas.

Explosive Growth and Milestones

From just 9 partner restaurants at launch, Haat now collaborates with over 3,000 eateries across Israel.

Its courier network has surged from 5 to 5,000, while employee count grew from 4 to 300.

The platform has facilitated approximately $250 million in total sales to date.

Prior funding of about $18 million came from high-profile Israeli investors linked to Apax Partners.

Future Expansion Plans

This capital will enhance AI-powered operations and deepen penetration in urban centers like Tel Aviv.

Haat eyes international growth into Europe and Africa, targeting regions with similar demographic and infrastructural challenges.
