SatLeo Labs, an Ahmedabad-based spacetech innovator, has secured $2.2 million in seed funding to advance its thermal satellite intelligence platform.

The round was led by Unicorn India Ventures, with participation from Merak Ventures, Java Capital, IIMA-CIIE, and angel investor Manish Gandhi, bringing the company's total funding to $5.5 million.

From Pre-Seed to Seed: A Rapid Rise

Previously, SatLeo Labs raised $3.3 million in pre-seed funding led by Merak Ventures in 2025, marking its strong trajectory in India's burgeoning spacetech sector.

Founded by Shravan Bhati, the startup specializes in satellite systems capturing thermal and visible data from low Earth orbit using advanced AI analytics.

Revolutionary Technology and Applications

The company's flagship TAPAS-1 thermal payload is now prepared for satellite integration, enabling real-time heat signal detection for critical applications.

This technology impacts defence surveillance, precision agriculture, urban heat mapping, and climate monitoring by turning satellite data into actionable insights.

SatLeo Labs has already initiated pilot projects monitoring urban heat islands and air pollution in cities like Ahmedabad and Tumakuru.

With the fresh capital, the team of about 30 will accelerate launch readiness and expand its AI platform for global scalability.

The startup boasts a robust commercial pipeline with letters of intent exceeding $42 million, signaling massive market demand.
