Gurugram-based oncology startup Oncare has successfully raised ₹27 crore (approximately $3.2 million) in a Series A funding round.
The round was led by Sky Impact Capital, with participation from existing investors Huddle Ventures, alongside Lotus Herbal Group, SteerX, and Tremis Capital.
Founders' Vision and Company History
Founded in 2023 by Amar Sneh and Deepak Kumar, both former executives at surgical care platform Pristyn Care, Oncare pioneered a distributed model for oncology services.
The startup builds and operates specialized oncology departments within mid-sized, non-branded hospitals, integrating medical, surgical, and radiation oncology under one roof.
This capex-light approach enables Oncare to offer chemotherapy sessions at around ₹24,000-25,000—up to 40% cheaper than corporate hospitals—and surgeries 30-40% lower in cost.
Current Operations and Proven Impact
Operating four centers across Delhi-NCR, Oncare has engaged with nearly 30,000 patients, delivered 3,000 consultations, treated 1,000 patients, and performed over 4,000 procedures since inception.
Following a $1 million seed round in 2024 led by Huddle Ventures, this Series A validates the model's scalability and early traction in standardizing transparent cancer care.
Future Expansion and Market Opportunity
Oncare plans to deploy the funds to launch centers in Bangalore and Tier-2/3 cities across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal, addressing massive demand-supply gaps.
Investments in technology will enhance clinical workflows, care coordination, and patient experience, bringing quality treatment closer to patients' homes.
India's oncology market is projected to reach ₹43,000 crore by FY28, growing at 14% CAGR, amid rising cancer cases and uneven access concentrated in metro hospitals.
"Affordability and transparency remain the biggest pain points in cancer care," stated Deepak Kumar, cofounder, emphasizing the mission to ease the burden on families.
With this funding, Oncare is poised to lead the shift toward efficient, single-specialty networks, improving outcomes and accessibility nationwide.
