Hong Kong's Accelerated Infrastructure Capital to Build $2.1B AI Data Center in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City

Hong Kong-based Accelerated Infrastructure Capital (AIC) has announced plans to construct a massive $2.1 billion AI data center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The project partners AIC with KinhBac City Development Holding Corporation (KBC), following a memorandum of understanding signed with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology.

Project Timeline and Scale

Groundbreaking ceremonies are scheduled for April 30, aligning with a significant national holiday in Vietnam.

Capital disbursement for the initiative is targeted to complete by the end of the first quarter of 2027.

The initial phase will develop a cutting-edge 50MW AI facility, equivalent to supporting 28,000 GPUs for high-performance computing.

Strategic Impact on Vietnam's Tech Ecosystem

This development positions Ho Chi Minh City as a burgeoning hub for AI innovation in Southeast Asia, addressing surging demand for advanced computing resources.

Vietnam's digital infrastructure has seen rapid growth, with foreign investments accelerating to support the nation's tech ambitions amid global AI expansion.

The data center will foster research, AI applications across industries, and contribute to a robust ecosystem for technology R&D.

By meeting computing needs for local and international clients, the project enhances Vietnam's competitiveness in the global digital economy.

Future expansions could scale capacity further, solidifying Ho Chi Minh City's role in regional AI and big data leadership.
