Google Rolls Out New AI Tools to Supercharge Video Shopping Across Southeast Asia

Google has introduced fresh advertising and video commerce solutions tailored for Southeast Asia during its Marketing Live event in Singapore.
These tools build on the rapid growth of YouTube shopping content in the region.
The Rise of Video Commerce in Southeast Asia
Video commerce on YouTube has grown five times since 2022 and now accounts for 25 percent of the region's total e-commerce value.
More than 6 million videos already include shoppable product tags thanks to the affiliate program launched two years ago.
Over half of eligible creators have joined the program with payouts rising more than 105 percent year on year.
Viewers in the region trust YouTube creators more than those on other platforms which opens doors for authentic product recommendations.
How AI Is Changing the Way People Shop
Search usage across Southeast Asia has reached record levels with users of AI features reporting faster and more confident purchase decisions.
One new tool called Commerce Media Suite lets brands send shoppers from YouTube ads straight to checkout pages using live data.
Early tests with partners like Shopee showed strong results including revenue gains for brands such as Maybelline.
This shift empowers local creators and small businesses to reach buyers in a more engaging format than traditional ads.
Looking ahead the tools could help Southeast Asia's growing digital economy by making online shopping simpler and more trustworthy for everyday consumers.
