Spektr Raises $20M Series A Led by NEA to Automate Fintech Compliance with AI Agents

Copenhagen-based Spektr has secured $20 million in a Series A funding round led by NEA.

The round brings the startup's total funding to just under $26 million since its founding in 2023.

Founders' Proven Success

Co-founders Mikkel Skarnager (CEO) and Ciprian Florescu (CTO) previously built and sold HelloFlow to Trulioo for over $50 million in under two years.

They've reunited with key HelloFlow alumni, including CPO Jeremy Joly and CRO Jan-Erik Aabo Wagner, to drive Spektr's growth.

AI-Powered Compliance Innovation

Spektr offers configurable workflows integrated with AI agents to automate manual compliance tasks like document reviews and risk assessments.

This end-to-end automation enhances decision-making, reduces errors, and keeps humans in the loop for final approvals.

CEO Skarnager noted that Spektr executes the work within workflows, not just manages them.

Expanding Global Reach

Clients already include prominent names like Pleo, Santander Leasing, and major U.S. marketplaces.

The fresh capital will fuel engineering expansion to meet demands from large banks and fintechs.

Spektr plans to open offices in London and New York to serve its growing international base.

NEA's Luke Pappas praised Spektr's approach for driving superior outcomes in fintech compliance.
