San Francisco-based Juno, an AI-powered tax preparation platform founded by CPA Dave Haase, has secured $12 million in seed funding.

The funding, aimed at accelerating product development and customer growth, was led by Bonfire Ventures with participation from Impression Ventures and Xfund.

Founder's Expertise Drives Innovation

Haase, who sold his Bay Area accounting firm in 2025 to focus full-time on Juno, was inspired in 2023 by a ChatGPT demo that highlighted AI's potential and pitfalls in tax filing.

With an MBA from Stanford, Haase spent over a year building integrations with outdated tax software lacking public APIs to create a seamless automation tool.

Juno automates 90% of data entry across more than 90 document types, reducing return preparation time from two to three hours to just seven to 10 minutes.

The platform extracts data from IRS forms and unstructured documents, flags inconsistencies for review, and maintains human oversight to ensure 100% accuracy and audit protection.

Launched as a co-pilot in 2024 and a full product in July 2025, Juno now serves nearly 500 customers and achieves mid-seven-figure annual recurring revenue.

Focusing on small to mid-sized accounting firms stuck in manual processes, Juno frees professionals to act as strategic advisors rather than data entry specialists.

Unlike consumer tools like TurboTax or enterprise software, Juno bridges raw documents to filing systems for SMBs in a $53.8 billion fintech investment landscape.

Investors highlight Haase's founder-market fit and the platform's transparent, auditable AI approach amid rising labor challenges.
