Elon Musk's Last xAI Co-Founder Manuel Kroiss Departs Amid Restructuring and SpaceX Acquisition

Elon Musk's xAI has seen another high-profile departure, with co-founder Manuel Kroiss reportedly leaving the company.

Ross Nordeen, described as Musk's right-hand operator, also exited xAI just days earlier on Friday.

Earlier this month, all but two of Musk's original 11 co-founders had already departed the AI startup.

Kroiss, who led xAI's pretraining team and reported directly to Musk, informed colleagues of his exit on Wednesday.

Nordeen joined xAI from Tesla and was previously involved in planning significant layoffs at Twitter after Musk's 2022 acquisition.

Musk recently admitted that xAI "was not built right [the] first time around," announcing it is now "being rebuilt from the foundations up."
