Eight Sleep has raised $50 million in a strategic funding round at a $1.5 billion valuation, solidifying its status as a unicorn in the sleep tech industry.

Led by Tether Investments, this brings the company's total funding to over $250 million, following a $100 million round in August 2025 that hit $1 billion valuation.

Eight Sleep's Rise from Startup to Unicorn

Founded in 2014 by Matteo Franceschetti, Massimo Andreasi Bassi, and Alex Zatarain, Eight Sleep introduced the innovative Pod smart mattress with embedded sensors to track sleep trends.

In 2018, the company launched its AI-powered sleep coach, offering personalized notifications like adjustments for REM sleep or bedtime routines based on user data.

Achieving free cash flow positivity in 2025, Eight Sleep also debuted three new products: Pod 5, Pod Pillow Cover, and Thermal Blanket, expanding its product ecosystem.
