Danantara Indonesia Launches PT Denera to Pioneer Waste-to-Energy Revolution Nationwide

Danantara Indonesia has established PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (PT Denera) as a dedicated holding company for waste-to-energy (WtE) projects across the country.
Announced on April 1, 2026, by PT Danantara Investment Management, PT Denera will consolidate investments, development, and operations for all WtE initiatives.
Alignment with National Sustainability Goals
This strategic formation complies with Presidential Regulation No. 109 of 2025, which mandates urban waste management through conversion to renewable energy using green technologies.
Indonesia has long grappled with escalating urban waste volumes, making WtE solutions critical for environmental sustainability and energy security.
PT Denera will form joint entities known as Badan Usaha Pengembang dan Pengelola (BUPP) with consortium partners to execute projects efficiently.
Transformative Impacts on Environment and Economy
The new firm promises enhanced project governance, operational standards, and coordination with global partners to attract substantial investments.
Pandu Patria Sjahrir, Chief Investment Officer of Danantara Indonesia, stated, "The establishment of PT Denera reflects our commitment to building a strong and transparent institutional framework for integrated waste management."
By promoting technology transfer, PT Denera will enable upstream handling of diverse waste types, reducing landfill dependency and emissions.
Future expansions target multiple cities, fostering resilient urban ecosystems and long-term social value for communities.
This initiative positions Indonesia as a regional frontrunner in sustainable waste-to-energy innovation, driving economic growth through green jobs and energy production.
Stakeholders expect PT Denera to catalyze a competitive investment platform, accelerating the nationwide rollout of WtE facilities.
