Cape EMS Berhad Launches GrandCape JV to Pioneer Advanced Interconnects for EV Mobility, AI Infrastructure, and Energy Storage

Malaysia-listed Cape EMS Berhad has officially expanded into advanced interconnect engineering through the establishment of GrandCape (M) Sdn Bhd, a joint venture with New Grand Tech (HK) Ltd.

The new platform is already operational at Cape EMS's Senai facility in Johor, equipped with four flexible flat cable (FFC) production machines.

CEB 2.0 Transformation Accelerates

This strategic initiative forms part of Cape EMS's CEB 2.0 strategy, shifting the company from traditional assembly services to high-value engineering and system integration.

GrandCape specializes in manufacturing FFCs, high-density interconnects, and signal integrity components tailored for demanding applications.

In the AI sector, it supports GPU clusters, hyperscale data centers, and generative AI model training with high-performance connectivity solutions.

For EV mobility, GrandCape provides critical FFC connectivity for battery modules and smart mobility ecosystems.

Targeting Energy Systems and Global Trends

The venture also delivers high-reliability interconnects for large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) amid rising AI energy demands and grid modernization.

This capital-efficient expansion minimizes risks, accelerates time-to-market, and unlocks near-term revenue potential without major infrastructure investments.
