Amkor Technology to Double Vietnam Semiconductor Output to 1.2 Billion Units Amid Global Supply Chain Shift

Amkor Technology, a leading U.S. semiconductor packaging firm, plans to double its annual output at its Vietnam factory to 1.2 billion items.

This expansion will increase production from the current 675 million items (236.3 tons) to 420 tons per year, with machines for two new lines ready by Q3 2027.

Factory's Growth Journey

The Bac Ninh facility, licensed in 2011 with an initial $529 million investment, saw its funding rise to $1.6 billion in June 2024.

Inaugurated in October 2023, it currently employs 1,587 workers and aims for 3,700 employees at full expanded capacity.
