We were founded by Cambridge Maths duo Annanay Kapila and Joshua Wharton, who previously worked at Tower Research Capital and Citadel, respectively. The team also includes former staff from Jane Street, Optiver and Jump Trading.

QFEX has raised $XXm from a group of investors including Y Combinator, an early investor in companies like Coinbase, Reddit and Monzo.

What You’ll Do

We’re hiring a highly motivated Founder’s Associate to work alongside our CEO across a variety of operations, including growth, product, and legal+compliance. 

The ideal candidate will have an exceptional track record of organizational skills and diligence in a high-stakes, fast moving industry. Learning quickly matters more than specific prior experience here, but exceptional work ethic, sense of accountability and intelligence are a must. 

This role is especially suited for people who’ve ended up a cog in the corporate world, and are itching to get real work done again. This is not a ‘strategy’ role; it’s an ‘execution’ role. It will be demanding, and you will need to be flexible and context-switch constantly.

In return, you will get early access to the keys of one of the UK’s most promising fintech startups, and the ability to work and learn from one of the most talent-dense fintech teams in the world, featuring staff previously at Citadel, Jane Street, Jump Trading, Optiver and Tower Research Capital.

Your day-to-day will depend on your skillset, interest, and the business requirements, but here are some of the things you could be working on:

• Maintaining existing growth channels like managing podcast sessions and curating content.
• Bootstrapping new growth channels like YouTube.
• Automating operations such as institutional onboarding, banking and treasury management.
• Working with our MLRO to handle and automate compliance workflows.
• Actively managing VIP users and inbound user requests/ feedback.

What You’ll Need

• A degree from a University that is highly ranked in your home country (at the level of Oxbridge/ Imperial/ LSE in the UK, HYMPS in the US, or a top IIT in India).
• Relentless, will work 12 hours/day, 6 days a week.
• Experience in an operations, growth or strategy role in a high-stakes, fast-moving industry.

Bonus points

• Fintech, exchange, or crypto work experience.
• Ex-Founder or Founder Associate at a fast growing startup.
• A STEM degree, or ex-engineering experience (vibe coding your own project is also good).
