Overview
This document explains BEAMSTART’s billing and refund policies for Subscription Plans (which we sometimes refer to in this policy as “services”). More specifically, this policy describes when BEAMSTART will issue a refund for services rendered, as well as the process of requesting a refund.
Memberships & Billing Cycle
You may purchase BEAMSTART Paid Memberships (“BEAMSTART Paid Memberships”) for access and use of additional features and Services via a subscription service on or via any of the Platforms (as defined below) or any of the methods as may be made available on the Platforms or as may be notified to you from time to time.
All BEAMSTART Membership Subscription fees are due in advance. Services are activated automatically upon the creation or renewal of a new or existing subscription plan.
All users will be given the option to subscribe to a membership plan that is billed monthly, quarterly, or yearly.
Cancellations & Refunds
We have a flexible cancellations and refunds policy to ensure all users are satisfied with our services.
To receive a full refund, you may cancel your BEAMSTART Paid Membership within three (3) days of the activation date provided you have yet to utilize any of the membership features. These membership features include but are not limited to:
- Claiming and using any of the deals.
- Publishing or applying for jobs.
- Sending connection requests with individuals or companies.
- Saving or connecting with investors.
- Creating a company/organization profile in the member portal.
- Publishing news, content, or press releases via the member portal.
Should you decide to cancel your membership AFTER three (3) days from initial activation or renewal, your payment is non-refundable and your BEAMSTART Membership Subscription(s) will continue until the end of your contracted term.
Any refunds processed will be issued to the method of original payment:
- If you made payments with a prepaid/bank debit card, funds will be returned to your bank/prepaid account.
- If you made payments with a credit card, funds will be returned to your card (sometimes returned to your bank account, depending on your bank).
- Payments made via PayPal will be returned to your PayPal account balance.
BEAMSTART reserves the right to refuse refunds should our membership services be used for illegal and(or) unauthorized activities other than the intended purpose of the service as described in the Terms of Service.
All membership cancellations must be made via the member portal. Alternatively, we also allow you to submit a customer support request, but cancellations may not be immediate and may run into the subsequent billing cycle if submitted too late.
Overdue Payment
If a charge to the payment method on your account is declined, we may make additional attempts to process the payment. If payment continues to fail, we may display a Billing Issue message when you sign in to your account, and we may attempt to notify you by email. To ensure payment is successfully processed, we recommend you take the following steps:
Verify that your bank/debit card account is sufficiently funded. Make sure your credit card information on file with BEAMSTART is up to date. Contact your bank or credit card provider to approve payments.
- 0 - 7 Days: Your account enters the 'Grace Period', where a notice will be displayed of your failed subscription renewal.
- 7 days - 90 days: Services will no longer be available to the user until renewal, and a notice will appear upon logging into your account.
- 90 Days: We may delete your account if there is no activity. An email notice will be sent out 3 days prior to deactivation. Once an account is deactivated, you will not be able to recover your account.
Plan Changes
Plan upgrades/downgrades can be made via the Members Portal subscription page.
- Upgrade – If you upgrade your plan, we will prorate your fee. You’ll pay the old fee up through the date of the upgrade and the new fee thereafter.
- Downgrade – You can downgrade your plan any time. Any plan downgrades will take effect when your next billing cycle begins.
Timing
Cancellations are immediate and you can do it via the member portal subscription page here (you will need to be logged in to your personal account and not a business/organization profile).
It may take anywhere from 7 - 14 business days for funds to be returned to your method of payment upon cancellation (depending on your bank / card issuer).
Policy Changes
We may periodically amend this policy for any reason. Please review this policy periodically and take note of the last modified date above.
