About Shahab Shabibi
Shahab Shabibi is a serial entrepreneur & has co-founded Machine Ventures at 2015.
His first experience was building a company in 2008, Rapsong.ir served as a portal for the underground music where artists promote their songs to reach out their fans and a forum where more than 150,000 music fans discussed the music industry in Iran and also acting as a launchpad for artists that now have millions of followers.
Later on he was part of the team that started Tarafdari.com, Iran’s Biggest Independent Sports News Agency with more than 2,000,000 readers per month and one of the top 50 most visited websites in the country.
After moving to the Philippines and obtaining his degree of B.S. Business Administration he joined the German company builder, Rocket Internet (builder of Lazada, Zalora, foodpanda, EasyTaxi, etc) as an Entrepreneur in Residence responsible to build and launch their carpooling platform, Tripda, from scratch and was able to reach more than 100,000 passengers transported within the span of 8 months in Manila.
After leaving Rocket Internet, Shabibi partnered with Farouk Meralli and co-founded Machine Ventures, Southeast Asia’s first company builder. First project of Machine Ventures was HeyKuya, an SMS based personal assistant with more than 35,000 users and 2,000 requests daily for which Shahab served as the founder and the Chief Executive Officer. 6 months after the start of HeyKuya, Indonesian firm, YesBoss Group Pte. Ltd. acquired HeyKuya, making it Shahab’s first exit at the age of 20.
Currently, Machine Ventures acts as a platform for company building and hosts the region's most prominent entrepreneurs with more than 5 ventures and counting under its umbrella and is always exploring more opportunities.
