We are looking at addressing Kenya’s challenge of this century is climate change and unsustainable use of land and water resources. This exacerbates the impact of droughts and floods, degradation of wetlands, decreasing the availability of clean water and hydro-power energy. This results in loss of lives and livelihoods, food and health crises, and infrastructure damage. Ignoring these challenges is costly! In Kenya, only the direct costs of droughts and floods are more than 2% of its GDP. Indirect costs in terms of livelihoods, health, etc. are immeasurable.
