That’s how we deliver value to our portfolio companies as we have built expertise in navigating effectively through this extremely varied sector. Discerning the best opportunities and purposeful investments forwards has become second-nature.

But there is more to it.

When we decided to focus our ecosystem building efforts on APAC in 2016, it felt like the Wild West, or shall we say the Wild East? – few startups had started popping up from every country, all of them feeling very isolated, facing investors endlessly trying to figure out what was going to be the “next big thing”. And all were eyeing at the US and Europe.

But what kind of systemic problem can the West solve if there is no Asian answer to it as well?
