About Global Mining Guidelines Group
At GMG, our focus is on collaboration – between companies, OEMs/OTMs, regulators, research organizations, universities and others. Through partnerships with organizations inside and outside mining around the globe, we’ve developed a network of global innovators. This is how our industry will change the world.
The GMG Community
GMG is an industry-led open platform – global priorities are industry’s priorities which are our priorities. Our members identify areas of focus and together we set out to develop knowledge, educate and provide guidance to the global mining industry.
Whether you are an “outside-the-box” thinker, an industry pioneer, an innovator or simply have a problem to solve, you can have a huge impact on the industry – even if you have little time to spare.
Collaboration: Mission Critical
Change is needed NOW. We’re all tackling the same things with less resources to do so. To drive explosive change and meet the UN’s Sustainability Development Goals by 2030, we need to pool resources and work together to accelerate progress.
Global spending on R&D has reached a record high of almost US$ 1.7 trillion. About 10 countries account for 80% of spending. As part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), countries have pledged to substantially increase public and private R&D spending as well as the number of researchers by 2030. – UNESCO Institute for Statistics, 2019
