Xeraya Capital

The Yellow Seraya tree, commonly found in Sabah, Malaysia’s easternmost state on Borneo island, is the tallest tropical tree in the world and has a wide variety of important uses, from timber to food ingredients. It bears fruit every five to ten years.

This tree inspired our name because it reflects the way we work – nurturing investments through rain and shine, steadily and dependably growing to fruition, while the X is a reminder that the life sciences are in our DNA.

We were the brainchild of Khazanah Nasional Berhad, envisioned as an independent vehicle to provide agile, capital support via venture capital and private equity to catalyze life sciences breakthroughs and bring life-changing innovations to human wellbeing. We also have a three-pronged, yet simple vision; react quickly to opportunities, take a long-term view on investments, and ensure partner companies make a difference in the lives of Malaysians and people around the world.
