I never thought I would live in Seattle or work for a tech company but that was three decades ago and I am still in the Pacific Northwest and still working with tech companies. You never know.

But I also never thought I would still be driving the same car that was painted with polka dots and covered in advertising for one of my first start-up investments. But the cassette player still works so if it ain’t broke….

Then there was the time I went to Argentina just to see it and I ended up buying a vineyard. You never know.

Now, I wake up each morning and set my intentions, and note my gratitude. Then I have my coffee. Then I see what tickles my fancy. That may not be the best (read efficient) strategy but it keeps a smile on my face.

If you press me, I would say I love ideas, I love people, I love people with ideas and it is such a big bonus if they can make those ideas work, and especially if they work to make the world better.

I honestly have never been so excited about how the world is changing and I love having a seat on the field.

And I cannot help myself as I still do some 40 or so dinners a year for founders and investors.

Oh, the resume stuff? I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University, graduating with a B.S., M.A., and M.B.A. While at Stanford, I started and ran two successful companies. I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and I’m a hardcore Nebraska Cornhusker fan. In my spare time, I collect sports ticket stubs.
