Founded in 1994, Spectrum Equity is a leading growth equity firm with offices in Boston, San Francisco, and London. For over 30 years, we’ve partnered with a select group of businesses across multiple sectors, focusing on category-leading software, data, and consumer internet businesses. We invest more than capital: we aim to create productive partnerships with our portfolio companies and enduring relationships with founders and management teams.

We invest in emerging and current category leaders in software, data, and consumer internet businesses with proven value propositions, deep customer advocacy, scalable operating leverage, and resilient recurring revenue.
We are often the first institutional investor in a company, and have a flexible approach to structure, governance, and ownership, including leading minority recapitalizations and change of control transactions.
Our investment size is generally between $30-$200 million, with additional capacity for follow-ons. We can be uniquely flexible with our capital to meet the needs of our partners – ranging from shareholder liquidity to growth capital to fuel key operational initiatives.
