It started in 1973 when our founder Allan Gray launched Allan Gray Proprietary Limited. It’s now South Africa’s largest privately-owned asset manager. In 1989 he set up Orbis to take his fundamental, long-term, contrarian approach global. The approach has never changed. Neither has our goal to deliver superior long-term returns.
