Venture Capital for Fraunhofer Startups
FTTF is an independent early-stage venture capital investor for young deep-tech companies of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and the first such fund in Germany. With a fund volume of 60 million euros, FTTF finances start-ups in very early phases and can invest up to 5 million euros per company. Since its launch in 2019, FTTF has invested in 39 start-ups pursuing innovative business models based on a wide range of Fraunhofer technologies.
FTTF is backed by the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft and the EIF, wrto EIF in particular by (i) InnovFin Equity, with the financial backing of the European Union from Horizon 2020 financial instruments, (ii) the European Fund for Strategic Investment (“EFSI”), established pursuant to the Investment Plan for Europe launched and established to help support the financing and implementation of productive investments in the European Union and to provide improved access to finance, (iii) the European Recovery Program - EIF Facility (“ERP-EIF Facility”) and (iv) LfA Gesellschaft für Vermögensverwaltung mbH – EiF Facility (“LfA-EIF Facility”).
