It's been 2 months since MaGIC's Global Accelerator Programme Cohort 04 kicked off back in September.

The programme, which brought onboard 40 promising startup companies, has had a rigorous 2 months of intensive learning, networking, and visitations.

Due to the pandemic, a special digital-focused curriculum was crafted this year to help Cohort 04 participants learn effectively online, where all sessions were conducted on Zoom.

This year's curriculum heavily focused on sustainability and adaptability, with more emphasis on coaching and mentoring.

To ensure teams are fully equipped with the right understanding in building companies effectively, sessions covered key topics ranging from:

  • Investments, Fundraising, and Investors Mindsets
  • Business Acumen
  • Effective Communication
  • Tech Development

Sessions were held together with representatives from corporate partners, which include AirAsia, TNB, Grab, Petronas, and many more.

Over $1 million worth of perks for companies.

To further support Cohort 04 startups in building their products more effectively, teams were awarded partner benefits worth more than $1 million in total.

In fact, the total value of these benefits has doubled from the initial value of $500k at the beginning of the programme.

These included curated value packages/discounted services ranging from web hosting, working spaces, tools, payment systems, and many more — all designed to help startups run and grow their businesses more effectively and affordably.

MaGIC ASEAN Expansion Day 1 online session.

A key highlight of Cohort 04 was the ASEAN Expansion Day, a half-day session to connect startups to key industry players from 3 ASEAN countries — Singapore, Taiwan, and Indonesia.

Throughout the day, participants were connected to a wide number of people ranging from corporates, business leaders, alumni, and coaches, and exposed to valuable insights on expansion strategies and challenges each country was facing with regards to tackling the global pandemic.

The session played a significant role for Cohort 04 teams' product roadmaps, as it shed deeper understandings of how their solutions could impact people beyond their home countries.

MaGIC's previous year's Demo Day (Cohort 03).

With just 1 more month to go, GAP Cohort 04 will conclude with a Demo Day in December, where every startup will showcase their business pitches to regional investors and corporates.

This year, the theme for Demo Day is Innovation, Transformation, and Resilience, where MaGIC's Cohort 04 startups could just be offering the solutions needed for a better tomorrow.
