MeltPlan, a pioneering US-based AI startup, has secured a total of $14 million in funding, including a landmark $10 million seed round led by Bessemer Venture Partners.
The Berkeley, California-headquartered company specializes in an AI-native planning engine designed to optimize preconstruction decisions in the massive $14 trillion global construction industry.
Founders' Expertise Drives Innovation
Co-founded in 2025 by CEO Kanav Hasija, former co-founder of healthtech giant Innovaccer, and COO Tanmaya Kala, a civil engineer with experience at DPR Construction.
Hasija emphasized that construction failures stem from poor planning, where late changes prove irreversible and extremely costly compared to software bugs.
Revolutionary AI Planning Engine
MeltPlan's platform integrates four key systems—code compliance, cost estimation, scheduling, and value optimization—to simulate outcomes and surface risks before projects begin.
The AI has already demonstrated over 95% accuracy in building code compliance, helping teams evaluate constraints and run scenarios efficiently.
Strategic Investments and Partnerships
Alongside Bessemer, the round saw participation from European VC noa and WND Ventures, signaling strong investor confidence in construction tech disruption.
Pankaj Mitra from Bessemer praised MeltPlan for treating preconstruction as a comprehensive system to quantify tradeoffs early and minimize volatility.
Early adopters include major contractors like DPR Construction in California and Innovo Group in the UAE, validating the platform's real-world impact.
Future Growth and Industry Impact
The fresh capital will accelerate product development across its AI stack and expand the team from 14 to 30 members, primarily in India.
By addressing chronic issues like 30% budget overruns and 20% delays, MeltPlan aims to make construction predictable and “boring” in the best way possible.
Looking ahead, the startup plans market entry into India while scaling globally to reshape preconstruction workflows forever.
