IT outage strands thousands at Naia and Davao airport, but situation easing this weekend - Business Mirror

THOUSANDS of departing passengers were stranded until early Saturday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) after two local airlines and six other foreign airlines were affected by the global computer system s IT "disruption” that led to the cancellations of flights and affected banks, telecommunications and payments systems.

A similar situation was reported by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines at the Davao International Airport, but the situation eased after noon of Saturday.

The most affected by the CrowdStrike computer system outage was Cebu Pacific which tried to do it manually at the check-in counters ,while AirAsia and six other foreign airlines were also affected.
