High Tribunal a recourse for Philhealth fund issue - Business Mirror

Quick Summary:

GROUPS composed of those in the healthcare industry and other professionals are gearing up to take to the Supreme Court (SC) their opposition to the zero budget of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp.(PhilHealth) this year.

These are coming from the working class, which amount to P202 billion and will not be able to provide for the premiums of the 25.28 million indirect contributors, the groups said.

They also argued that the GAA is unconstitutional since “an appropriations law cannot amend a statute.“We may have to hear from (the) SC on this matter before we file a motion.(We) have not had a chance to meet with legal team yet,” Perez told the BusinessMirror.
