Startups & SMEs can Get up to 80% Subsidy to Build Apps; Lowering Costs for Digital Transformation
In a move to help startups / SMEs reduce costs and increase profitability by leveraging technology, BEAMSTART in partnership with AIgility Digital have launched a new initiative offering up to 80% subsidy for businesses aiming to reduce costs building mobile apps, websites, and digital platforms.
The program aims to make digital transformation very affordable and practical, helping smaller companies modernize their operations and scale faster in today’s tech-driven economy — especially with the rapid rise of AI that is reshaping industries and disrupting traditional business models.
Cost has been the Biggest Obstacle until Today
For many startups and small businesses, cost remains the biggest obstacle to going digital.
Building a standard mobile app today could average anywhere between $50,000 and $250,000, and does not include additional expenses for hosting, maintenance, and marketing.
These high entry costs often prevent entrepreneurs from adopting the digital tools necessary to streamline workflows, automate processes, and reach customers more efficiently.
The new initiative directly addresses this problem by subsidizing a large portion (up to 80%) of the development cost — allowing business owners to focus resources on growth and innovation rather than being limited by financial constraints.

About the Subsidy Program
Unlike conventional grants that involve lengthy approval processes, this program is streamlined and outcome-focused.
Eligible businesses will be paired with experienced development teams under AIgility Digital to ensure the delivery of reliable, production-ready digital solutions. Initial designs of the apps will be delivered within 24 hours, with prototypes ready as soon as 1 to 2 weeks — making this significantly faster than traditional software houses.
AIgility Digital, a software company specializing in AI and intelligent automation, leads the technical execution of the initiative. BEAMSTART, with an extensive startup ecosystem and business network, manages outreach, matching, and commercialization support. Together, they aim to make enterprise-level technology accessible to small and medium-sized businesses without the traditional cost barrier.
“Technology should be a growth enabler, not a barrier. By combining BEAMSTART’s broad network with AIgility Digital’s technical expertise, we’re helping startups and SMEs digitize faster, reduce costs, and compete globally”, mentioned Christopher Cheah, founder of AIgility Digital.
