Founders, how did you get your first customer(s)?

Programmer here. Keen to know how you got your first customers to buy your product, especially if it's a digital product.

Would appreciate your tips and suggestions on how you started and what you did to achieve it.

Alfred Lee

Journalist at BEAMSTART. I write about breaking business news in the region.

For me, one of the best places have been social platforms where there are targeted communities.

Here are some of them:

  • Facebook Groups (Entrepreneur communities, tech / app discussion groups)
  • Reddit
  • Quora
  • LinkedIn Groups
  • X Communities (not so effective but it's getting better now)
  • Online forums

These are free and you can easily get targeted users for your product.

Just my 2 cents. Keen to know what others do too.
