Sky Mavis, developer of Pokémon-esque NFT game Axie Infinity, has announced the first 12 community-created projects to be accepted into its Builders Program.
The Builders Program is an initiative for community developers to create content for the Axie ecosystem.
Moreover, the program is created to reward community developers and help strengthen the Axie Infinity community’s ability to create gaming experiences and tools on top of the Axie ecosystem.
Key Highlights
- Out of 2,000 applications received, the selected teams will receive a minimum grant of US$10,000 worth of Axie Infinity's governance token, Axie Infinity Shards (AXS); guidance from Sky Mavis' engineering, game design, and product teams and exclusive access to tech integrations such as Ronin Single-Sign-On and Ronin wallet transaction.
- The projects will also have permission to monetise using the Axie Infinity intellectual property with no limit, with a revenue share model and also promotion of the project to the community by Sky Mavis.
- Besides that, the chose projects are completely independent from the work Sky Mavis is doing with major games studios developing on the Ronin blockchain, which enables faster transactions, lower costs and more energy efficiency.
- Late March, there was a security breach on the Ronin Network, Axie's Ethereum side chain, resulting in the theft of 173,600 ether and 25.5 million USDC stable coins that amounted to US$620 million.
