Indonesia-based audio content platform, NOICE has raised US$22 million in a Series A round led by Northstar.
Participation from previous investors include Alpha JWC Ventures, Kinesys, and the investment arm of Gojek, Go-Ventures.
The freshly raised funds will be used to develop the creator community, technology platform, and expand more audio series content from local writers and storytellers and adapt it into audio formats.
"This latest funding will support NOICE 's ambition to become the largest audio platform in Indonesia," said chief executive officer of NOICE, Rado Ardian.
Background of NOICE
- Launched in 2018, NOICE offers radio streaming, live audio, audiobooks, and podcasts which differs from other audio streaming startups that focus on music.
- For instance, NOICE hosts drama series from Indonesian writers and works with influencers to create podcasts and live audio.
- NOICE currently has more than 2 million registered users, which grew more than 4x compared to last year, with more than 40,000 pieces of content for users to choose from.
- The company claims that its listeners spend an average of 80 minutes per day on the platform.
- The audio content startup recently launched an audio creation platform, called the Noicemaker Studio, which allows content creators to distribute their audio content directly on NOICE.
