Vietnam's mobile wallet, MoMo and Indonesia's on-demand multi-service platform, Gojek have announced a strategic partnership.
As the first e-wallet integrated on the Gojek application in Vietnam, the partnership will pair both ecosystems and support millions of Gojek users in the country.
The integration of MoMo as a payment method is to provide customers with more payment alternatives on Gojek's app, following the rollout of card payments last year.
Gojek's online ride-hailing services GoRide (motorcycle), GoCar (car), online food delivery GoFood and delivery GoSend will be supported by MoMo.
Gojek users will have the option to pay via e-wallet besides credit card, debit card, and cash.
MoMo will be able to reach new customers with Gojek constantly expanding new offerings through its 200,000 driver partners and tens of thousands of restaurants.
In addition, Gojek will have the opportunity to tap into MoMo's ecosystem of over 31 million users and meet the growing needs of users who want more payment options such as contactless payment on the Gojek app.
Users can seamlessly add MoMo Wallet as a payment method on Gojek by going to the “Account Info” icon on the homepage, select “Payment method”, add “MoMo wallet” and follow the instructions to link.
However, it is not as straightforward for MoMo users, as they have to utilise the search function to download Gojek and link MoMo Wallet.

MoMo and Gojek will offer users with a variety of gifts to commemorate this significant collaboration.
Starting 14 March, 2022, Gojek's new users will receive a "Getting Started Gift Basket" worth up to VND 600,000 including 18 discount cards when using its services.
