There's a new mobile app in town, and it is rising in popularity among fellow Malaysians as a place to voice their complaints on society's problems.
Also known as RepotLah, the app aims to make Malaysia a safer (and cleaner) place for everyone by giving them an avenue to send in complaints directly to community leaders, lawmakers, and government authorities.
Founded in 2021 by Keasavan Hari Krishnan and Feirdhauz Khairudin, the duo noticed that there were many societal problems in the country that go unnoticed by government authorities.
To make matters worse, there weren't any suitable places for the public to effectively report these issues online, resulting in many of these problems being unaddressed for prolonged periods of time.
In an effort to solve this, the two founders got together to build a solution that makes it quick and easy for anyone to lodge complaints that are relayed directly to the relevant authorities.
“We have been working on RepotLah for over a year now to serve the community. With RepotLah, elected representatives can see all reports in their particular constituent and this will be an integrated platform for all MP’s and assemblymen. We hope that the existence of RepotLah will future save the lives of others on the road. RepotLah Your Voice Towards a Safer Society!”, mentioned Founder and CEO of RepotLah, Keasavan Hari Krishnan.
At first glance, RepotLah spots a very simple and familiar user interface, much like many other social apps.
Users simply need to log in, and post up a photo and description of the problem they're facing, coupled with the location it was taking place at.
At present, RepotLah lets anyone report problems in the following categories:
Repotlah will then verify and relay these complaints to the relevant authorities so these problems can be addressed in a timely manner.
The public will also be able to track the status of reports, as well as alert one another of problems in a particular area.
“RepotLah is developed to create a seamless and interactive application for fellow Malaysians. It is as easy as logging into the app and users can start reporting. Kuala Lumpur and Selangor has road issues that can cause accidents and sometimes these issues are not highlighted to the authorities so RepotLah will be a good platform to provide these informations to the authorities”, mentioned Founder and COO of RepotLah, Mohammed Feirdhauz Khairudin.
Since its inception, RepotLah is now available in over 10 cities across Malaysia, with many more being added each month.
The company is also gearing up for aggressive expansion across the country, and is already in talks to provide its solution to government ministries and large corporations as a tool to manage mission-critical reports.
RepotLah will also be launching an equity crowdfunding campaign in the coming months, where funds will be utilized for nationwide expansion.
