AirAsia Food has been aggressively expanding its presence across Malaysia, with strong ambitions to become a major player in the food delivery space.
Earlier this week, the company announced that it plans to expand its presence into Indonesia early 2022.
In line with the announcement, AirAsia also announced that it will begin offering competitive commission rates for the first 1,000 culinary merchants that sign up in the country.
According to CEO Tony Fernandes, he mentions that AirAsia is known to "present more value with low cost" for its consumers, and they aims to achieve that with AirAsia Food in Indonesia.
"All this while, AirAsia is able to create a fairer ecosystem for everyone and offer what the market wants. We did that with the airline industry. Hence, do await the new ideas we are about to present with our new venture in this culinary world," Tony Fernandes further elaborated in their announcement.
