The story of Segwitz and founder Mukesh Maran

Segwitz was founded back in 2019 by 21-year old Mukesh Maran after 2 business failures.

His first venture started right after high school, which came to a halt after 12 months of running it.

His second venture, Joe Games, was a video game development startup that launched 4 mobile games. 

However as the venture did not drive sufficient revenues to be sustainable, Mukesh had to find other sources of income — which was when he started providing IT consultation and web development services as a freelancer.

Over time, demand for his web development services kept increasing, and in December 2018, he decided to close down Joe Games.

Segwitz was founded the following year.

While he was starting Segwitz, Mukesh realized that many SMEs and large companies were spending huge sums of money to build websites and apps, only to have them fail in the end due to poor implementation and market adoption.

Mukesh also realized that many software development houses in the market rarely understood their clients' actual needs, and were all about building more "features" instead of products that were actually useful to their end users.

At Segwitz, he wanted to approach things differently — by being the only company in the market that strategically implements technology that brings exponential growth and competitiveness to businesses, while providing the best customer service in the market.

And to achieve that, the team at Segwitz goes above and beyond to fully understand what it takes to achieve their clients' business goals, before setting out to carefully craft a beautifully designed product that delights their customers.

Mukesh often mentions that Segwitz is more than just a software development house, but rather a strategic partner that walks alongside their clients at every step of the journey.

Since their inception, Segwitz has grown by over 300% year-on-year, starting with just a team of 3 people to now 29 people strong.

The company presently serves some of the most notable brands in the country, ranging from Razer, Mykori, Petronas, MyeongDong Topokki, Kementerian Belia dan Sukan, SoyaCincau, Nasty, NCIG, Pineapple.my, Athletes For Athletes Solutions(AFA), among others.

Since Segwitz's involvement in providing unparalleled technology support, many of these brands have been able to grow their revenues multiple-fold, all while automating many of their core business processes.

What's next for Segwitz

He shares that his vision is to go beyond just building client solutions, and to eventually spin off his company's own version of products/services that can bring more positive impact into peoples' lives.

Mukesh adds that the company has also recently launched Segwitz Sandbox, a go-to-market program focused on helping companies end-to-end with everything ranging from customer adoption, operations, and product improvements once their solutions are launched to the public.

Everything boils down to one simple vision for the company, and that is to create a world that advances communities, utilizing technology for a better life.
