In an effort to further protect peoples' safety in the country, Singapore's GovTech has joined forces with the Ministry of Health (MOH) to launch a contact tracing app called Trace Together.

The app uses bluetooth signals to crowdsource information of peoples' proximity, by measuring the distance and duration of peoples' encounters.

This allows government officials to take action quicker should a new case arise, allowing them to contact individuals who have been in close contact with victims sooner.

How Trace Together works.

According to the website, the app does not store any of users private data, and only utilizes one's phone number when signing up.

To date, over 650,000 users have downloaded the app.
